I just received a copy of these two epic surf films featuring Surfers and Shapers from Long Island. There are no clips on YouTube and no info online, but these films share a part of Long Island surf culture from the late 70′s and early 80′s that make up a shared history of surfing in New York. The mainstream surf culture sells images of California, Hawaii, and far flung tropical destinations. However there is a long history of great waves and innovative surfing coming from Long Island for many years. These films are living proof. I'm thinking of having a viewing with fellow interested Apes. Let's make a plan!!!

Yeah man! That sounds like just the salve for weeks of flatness...
ReplyDeleteI know, I have a new board and no waves to ride it with. Let's plan on it maybe next week or the following. The surfing in these films are epic!
